Childcare Coordinator

Direct Report- Nina Fiedler, KidsQuest Pastor

10 hours per week (5 hrs. in office per week on average)

Oversee all aspects of the Childcare Program for children age 6 weeks to 5th grade as requested for ministry events.

The safety of children in the care of Quest Church is THE top priority and we desire for families to feel confident entrusting their child to us. Children in our care should experience the love that Jesus has for them through the focused, personal interactions with our staff and workers.

Requirements:

  • Be a Christ follower that is taking active steps to grow in their faith.
  • Represent Quest Church’s staff/leadership values.
  • Experience in the physical, emotional, social, and developmental needs/stages of young children.
  • Ability to lead groups of adults in a professional manner and work well in a team setting.
  • Ability to meet the physical needs of children in the care of Quest Church.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit caring & capable adult workers to provide childcare for ministry needs as requested (events vary from weekday/weekend and from morning, afternoon, or evenings).
  • Ensure that childcare workers have up-to-date background checks and are adequately trained.
  • Revise Childcare Policies & Procedures as needed.
  • Schedule all workers according to Quest Church systems (Planning Center).
  • Equip workers to embrace the physical needs of children while providing interactive play.
  • Aquire necessary supplies (snacks, activities, crafts) to be utilized for childcare events.
  • Provide organization & structure to host childcare to include rosters, schedules, approved movies/shows/technology, etc..
  • Be available to step in and cover for a worker that is unable to meet their commitment to work (or secure a screened substitute worker).
  • Provide support to KidsQuest staff as requested and in collaborative efforts.

Safety:

  • Uphold the safety policies of KidsQuest/Quest Church and provide ongoing supervision and training to the workers.
  • Ensure workers are appropriately trained in responding to emergency situations as well as minor incidents.
  • Instruct workers on preventative and responsive correction in a loving manner following specified guidelines.
Nursery Coordinator

Direct Report- Nina Fiedler, KidsQuest Pastor

10 hours per week (6 hours will be committed to Sundays from 7:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.)

Oversee all aspects of the Nursey Program at Quest Church (Babies, 6 weeks old through two-year old children). Lead volunteers in the mission of Quest Church Nursery. Cultivate relationships with volunteers, promote team unity/community, & strive to build partnerships with parents who entrust their children to the care of Quest Church’s nursery.

Vision of Quest Church Nursery: We are a child’s 1st impression of God’s love.

Provide a safe, loving, and clean environment for babies, toddlers, and two-year old children where they will be cared for with interactive plan, Biblical story telling, worship, songs, and prayer. Ultimately, we desire for these children to learn that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Be a Christ follower that is taking active steps to grow in their faith.
  • Represent Quest Church’s staff/leadership values.
  • Experience in the physical, emotional, social, and developmental needs/stages of young children.
  • Learn the Orange Curriculum for Babies, Toddlers, and Two’s (First Look).
  • Maintain up-to-date CPR certification.
  • Collaborate with KidsQuest team toward ministry vision and goals.

Oversee Volunteers:

  • Recruit and schedule volunteers to provide coverage on Sunday mornings (3 services) to uphold the age specific room ratios.
  • Invest in relationships with volunteers through weekly contact (prayer, communication, training, and encouragement).
  • Train volunteers in all aspects of the ministry.
  • Equip volunteers to embrace the physical needs of children while sharing spiritual truths with age level activities (song, prayer, game, books, crafts, etc.).
  • Lead volunteers in their role to represent the vision of Quest Church’s nursery to each child and family.

First Look Curriculum:

  • Plan, develop, and prepare the monthly and weekly First Look curriculum to be utilized.
  • Purchase necessary supplies needed to carry out curriculum activities.
  • Communicate with volunteers (in advance) the monthly or weekly themes, lessons, and activities.

Safety:

  • Acquire necessary supplies (cleaning items, toys, equipment, etc.) for the safety and well-being of the children in the care of Quest Church Nursery.
  • Uphold the safety policies of KidsQuest and provide ongoing supervision & training to the volunteers serving in the Nursery.
  • Ensure volunteers are appropriately trained in responding to emergency situations as well as minor incidents.
  • Ensure each Nursery room has up-to-date evacuation procedures posted and means necessary to carry them out.
Pre-School Coordinator

Direct Report- Nina Fiedler, KidsQuest Pastor

15 hours per week (6 hours will be committed to Sundays)

Sunday Mornings- 7:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.

Oversee all aspects of the Pre-school Ministry at Quest Church (PreK-3 through Kindergarten). Lead volunteers in the vision of KidsQuest. Cultivate relationships with volunteers and promote team unity/community. Strive to build communication & partnerships with families who entrust their children to the ministry of KidsQuest.

Vision of Quest Church Pre-School:  Pre-schoolers need to know they matter to you!

Provide a safe, clean, fun and welcoming environment where EVERY pre-school child will be loved, valued and learn that: God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. Engage children in Biblical story telling, worship, activities, discussion & prayer within a small group culture. Partner with families to influence a child’s faith in Christ.

  • Ensure necessary materials are available to carry out curriculum activities & supplies for rooms.
  • Communicate with volunteers (in advance) the monthly or weekly themes, lessons, and activities.
  • Strategize opportunities to enhance the small group culture & partnering with families.

Safety:

  • Uphold the safety policies of KidsQuest and provide ongoing supervision and training to the volunteers serving in the Nursery.
  • Ensure volunteers are appropriately trained in responding to emergency situations as well as minor incidents.
  • Ensure each classroom has up-to-date evacuation procedures posted and means necessary to carry them out.
